Whitney Lake

Whitney Lake is a 23,550 acre reservoir on the Brazos River near Whitney, Texas. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 35 north to Waco. From Waco take FM 2490 north to State Highway 22 and proceed to the lake headquarters area.

There are thirteen separate camping areas with various facilities operated by the Corps of Engineers at Whitney Lake: Lofers Bend Park, McCown Valley Park, Juniper Cove Park, Cedar Creek Park, Old Fort Park, Chisholm Trail Park, Kimball Bend Park, Plowman Creek Park, Morgan Lakeside Park, Steeles Creek Park, Cedron Creek Park, Walling Bend Park, and Soldiers Bluff Park.

Recreational activities include swimming, fishing and boating.
