Somerville Lake

Somerville Lake is an 11,460 acre reservoir on Yegua Creek near Somerville, Texas. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 35 northeast to San Marcos, exit onto State Highway 21 and proceed northeast to U.S. 290. Take U.S. 290 east to Burton, then take northeast to State Highway 36 and proceed northwest to the lake headquarters area.

There are five separate camping areas with various facilities operated by the Corps of Engineers at Somerville Lake: Overlook Park, Welch Park, Big Creek Park, Rocky Creek Park, and Yegua Creek Park.

Recreational activities include swimming, fishing, and boating.
