Lake O'The Pines
Lake O'the Pines is a 18,700 acre reservoir on Big Cypress Creek near Jefferson, Texas. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 35 north to just north of Waco and take the Bellmead exit. Take State Highway 31 northeast to Longview. From Longview take U.S. 259 north to Lake O'the Pines.
There are eight separate camping areas with various facilities operated by the Corps of Engineers at Lake O'the Pines: Alley Creek Park, Brushy Creek Park, Buckhorn Creek Park, Cedar Springs Park, Hurricane Creek Park, Johnson Creek Park, Oak Valley Park, and Shady Grove Park. Both Alley Creek Park and Johnson Creek Park have group camping facilities.
Recreational activities include swimming and boating.
