Lake Cypress Springs

Lake Cypress Springs is a 3,400 acre reservoir ten miles south of Mt. Vernon, Texas. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 35 and IH 35E north to Dallas. From Dallas take IH 30 east, exit on FM 115 approximately 20 miles east of Sulphur Springs an proceed south to Lake Cypress Springs.

There are five separate camping areas with various facilities operated by the Franklin County Water District at Lake Cypress Springs: Dogwood Park, Mary King Park, Overlook Park, Walleye Park, and W.D. Jack Guthrie Park.

Recreational activities include swimming, fishing, and boating.
