Lake Travis
Lake Travis is an 18,930 acre reservoir on the Colorado River near Austin, Texas. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 35 north to Austin. From Austin take U.S. 290 west to Oak Hill and State Highway 71 to Bee Caves.
There are six separate camping areas with various facilities operated by Travis County by cooperative agreement with the Lower Colorado River Authority: Pace Bend Park, Mansfield Dam Recreation Area, Sandy Creek Park, Cypress Creek Park, Arkansas Bend Park, and Bob Wentz Park at Windy Point. All have restrooms and facilities for tent camping, some with water, electricity, and showers.
Recreational activities include swimming, fishing, and boating.

There are four camping areas operated by the Lower Colorado River Authority: Muleshoe Bend, Grelle, Shaffer Bend, and Turkey Bend. These recreation areas are minimally developed and provide a natural setting for camping on Lake Travis.
