CAMPING LOG

To promote weekend camping, the Boy Scouts of America has designed the National Camping Award to recognize troops who go camping during the year.  Each troop may qualify in two categories as it begins to expand its camping program:  yearly and cumulatively.

To qualify, at least fifty percent of a troop must attend resident camp.  On other campouts, at least thirty-three percent of Scouts must be in attendance for each twenty-four hour period to count as a camper day to qualify for the troop (annual) award.  A record is kept by the unit of the number of days camped each year.  Our Camping Log No. 33690A, available at the Musselman Scout Shop, is used to keep this record. 

Individual Scouts and Scouters may qualify for the cumulative patch by participating in campouts.
