Camp Karankawa - Corpus Christi
This is one of two Scout camps with the same name. This Camp Karankawa has 117 acres and is located three miles southwest of Mathis on Lake Corpus Christi. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 37 southeast toward Corpus Christi. Exit onto FM 1068 in Mathis and proceed south to Park Road 25, then follow the signs.
The camp has a swimming pool and 17 campsites with the usual facilities. Swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and nature study are some of the activities available. Canoes are available for use. Lake Corpus Christi State Recreational Area is nearby. The nearest hospital is in Robstown.
