George Pirtle Scout Reservation
George Pirtle Scout Reservation is situated on 650 acres of land on the banks of Lake Murvaul approximately fifty miles southeast of Tyler and thirty miles north of Nacogdoches. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 10 east to Houston and then take U.S. 59 north to Nacogdoches. From Nacogdoches take U.S. 59 northeast 28 miles to U.S. 84, turn left on U.S. 84 for one mile, then right on FM 1970 for approximately 8 miles to the Scout Camp sign.

There are 14 campsites for tent camping, one is barrier free. There are tables, fire rings, water, toilets, and showers available. Recreational activities include hiking, canoeing, and swimming. There is sightseeing available nearby in the Sabine National Forest on Toledo Bend Reservoir.
The camp is open all year around. There is a ranger on duty.
