El Rancho Cima

El Rancho Cima is a 2680 acre ranch on the Blanco river 18 miles west-northwest of San Marcos. There are two camps, Horseshoe Bend, which has 12 campsites, and Cockrell River Camp, which has 15 campsites. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 35 northeast to San Marcos. From San Marcos, take Ranch Road 12 to Ranch Road 32, 6 miles to camp gate.

This is an excellent place for backpacking and outpost type camping. There are miles of trails throughout the camp. Water and latrines are provided. There is sightseeing available nearby at Wonder World and Aquarena Springs in San Marcos and there is a Pioneer Village in nearby Wimberly. There is a store nearby for purchase of supplies. The nearest hospital is in San Marcos.
