Camp Fawcett
Camp Fawcett is situated on 160 acres of land located on the Nueces River 1 mile north of Barksdale. To get there from San Antonio, take U.S. 90 west to Uvalde. From Uvalde take State Highway 55 north and proceed to Barksdale. Camp Fawcett is on Ranch Road 335.
There are 11 sites for tents at the camp. Picnic tables, toilets, water, and electricity are available. Swimming and fishing facilities are available. There is a store nearby. The nearest hospital is in Uvalde.

The camp is open year round, however there is no Ranger on duty.
