BUFFALO TRAIL SCOUT RANCH
Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch is located on 6940 acres of land in the Davis Mountains approximately fifty-five miles west of Fort Stockton near Balmorhea State Park. To get there from San Antonio, take IH 10 northwest to Fort Stockton. From Fort Stockton continue west on IH 10 to State Highway 17. Turn south and continue until you reach Balmorhea State Park, turn right on blacktop road #1832 and continue to the camp entrance.

There are 10 campsites for tent camping. There are tables, fire rings, water, toilets, and showers available. Recreational activities include hiking and during the summer months, swimming. There is sightseeing available nearby at the McDonald Observatory and the Fort Davis National Historic Site. There is a store nearby for purchase of supplies.
The Camp is open all year around except during summer camp. There is a ranger on duty.
